🚨 IF YOU CAN’T AFFORD A TATTOO, JUST SAY THAT. 🚨
Respectfully. Disrespectfully. With the love of Jesus and the patience of a rabid raccoon. 🦝💀
Because WHY are we messaging tattoo artists for prices just to turn around and deliver an unsolicited TED Talk on why they aren’t worth their rates?!
MA’AM. I gave you a QUOTE. Not an invitation to audit my entire career. 😭
“Well, I’ve been tattooed by famous artists in California…”
CONGRATULATIONS, POOKIE. 🏆
Should I alert the media? Call TMZ? Have them declare a national holiday in your honor?! 😭
“You have a long way to go, sweetheart.”
And apparently you have a long way to go before discovering that YOUR BUDGET IS NOT MY BUSINESS MODEL. 😘
BUT WAIT. IT GETS BETTER.
“No wonder you have so many openings.”
OH, YOU SWEET SUMMER CHILD. 💀
I JUST reopened my books after taking time away for medical reasons and cosmetology school.
I’m NORMALLY booked 1–2 MONTHS OUT.
But thank you, Sherlock Homie, for your groundbreaking investigation into my calendar. 🕵️♀️
Apparently having a medical condition and pursuing further education means my career is circling the drain.
SOMEBODY ALERT THE BANK. 😭😂
Let’s review, since apparently we’re doing unsolicited business consultations today:
💅 My standard rate is $150/hour.
💅 My 8-hour tapout is $850.
💅 I’ve offered promotional FULL DAYS for $675.
💅 I have loyal clients who literally travel from Seattle to get tattooed by me.
💅 I’ve spent SIX YEARS building my craft, not six minutes watching tattoo tutorials on TikTok.
And you want eight hours for $400?!
BABE. THAT’S $50 AN HOUR. BEFORE SUPPLIES, RENT, TAXES, EQUIPMENT, AND MY WILL TO LIVE. 😭
At that point, should I just tattoo you for free and throw in a complimentary oil change?!
Maybe rotate your tires while we’re at it?!
I LOVE giving my clients deals. I genuinely do.
But there’s a difference between appreciating a promotion and trying to emotionally waterboard a small-business owner into lowering their prices. 💀
THIS IS A TATTOO STUDIO, NOT A YARD SALE.
You cannot walk into my inbox and haggle over my experience like I’m selling a suspiciously stained couch on Facebook Marketplace.
And PLEASE stop calling professionals “sweetheart” and “hun” while attempting to humble them.
Ma’am, I’m 34 years old, running a business, raising children, going to school, and managing a chronic illness.
I DO NOT HAVE THE TIME, ENERGY, OR SPINAL MOBILITY FOR THESE MENTAL GYMNASTICS. 🤸♀️😭
Here’s the thing.
I respect everyone’s budget. Tattoos are a luxury, and not everyone can afford every artist. THAT IS COMPLETELY FINE.
What isn’t fine is confusing “That’s outside my budget” with “You’re not worth that.”
You can decline a quote without submitting a dissertation on why my entire existence as an artist is apparently offensive to your checking account.
THE AUDACITY IS FREE. THE TATTOOS ARE NOT. 💅💀
And just because my books are OPEN doesn’t mean my prices are OPEN FOR DISCUSSION.
With love, Jesus, and the last three functioning nerves in my body,
INKED VIBRATIONS TATTOO STUDIO 🖤
P.S. My calendar opened because I reopened it. My rates didn’t drop because your jaw did. 😘
P.P.S. Please stop trying to humble tattoo artists. We’re already hunched over for eight hours a day. 💀😂
