As we head into the fall and winter months, we typically begin to see an increase in respiratory illnesses such as Flu, RSV, and COVID.
At Bright Pediatrics, we want families to be prepared — not scared!
There are simple steps we can all take to help protect our children and our community this respiratory season.
Stay up to date on recommended immunizations and preventive options. Talk with your child’s Bright healthcare provider about which options are appropriate based on your child’s age and medical history.
Wash hands frequently with soap and water.
Cover coughs and sneezes and teach children to do the same.
Keep children home when they are sick, especially when they have a fever or are not feeling well enough to participate in normal activities.
Clean frequently touched surfaces, including phones, tablets, toys, doorknobs, and countertops.
Protect our littlest patients. RSV can be especially serious for infants and young children. Ask your Bright Pediatrics provider about RSV prevention and whether your baby may be eligible.
Know when to call us. If your child develops concerning respiratory symptoms, has difficulty breathing, is not drinking well, shows signs of dehydration, or you are simply worried about how they are doing, please contact our office.
Prevention matters, and your Bright Pediatrics team is here to help your family navigate respiratory season safely and confidently.
