Pennsylvania’s measles outbreak reached 890 confirmed cases across 39 counties, with 173 hospitalizations and four measles-associated deaths reported by state health officials.
Symptoms can appear seven to 21 days after exposure, beginning with fever, cough, runny nose and red, watery eyes before a rash develops. Officials say measles can remain infectious in the air for two hours and emphasize full MMR vaccination as the strongest protection against infection during outbreaks.
