Because of you my story and my voice now sit along side James Baldwin, Malcolm X, Maya Angelou, Langston Hughes, and other notable scholar-educators.

It’s not too often one gets recognized or rewarded for speaking out against societal norms, specifically in education. I am forever grateful.🙏🏾💕

It’s easy to get caught up in school frustrations, but we can’t forget the educators who truly make a difference. They’re passionate about their students and grateful for the opportunity to teach. I’ll keep advocating for what I love. Dismantling a system that doesn’t serve everyone is hard, but I’m thankful for my passion and gifts that God had given me.
