Nobody talks about how much your gut and liver have to do with your Hashimoto’s.
When I was diagnosed, the whole conversation was about my thyroid and my medication dose. Nobody asked about my liver, my gut, or what else my immune system might be dealing with, and I kept wondering why I was doing everything I was told and still dragging myself through every afternoon.
Hashimoto’s is an immune condition, and your immune system doesn’t live in your thyroid. A large share of it lives in your gut, and your liver is one of the main ways your body processes thyroid hormone and clears what it’s ready to let go of.
So when something is quietly living in your gut, it makes sense to ask whether it’s adding to the load. (Remember Mary from yesterday’s post? The parasite on her labs was Blastocystis, the same one in the study on slide 4.)
And listen, this is not me telling you parasites cause Hashimoto’s. The research doesn’t show that, and I’ll never pretend it does. But when a woman has tried everything and still feels stuck, her gut and her liver deserve a closer look, not a shrug.
That’s why I’m so excited about our two-week group parasite cleanse. It isn’t a replacement for your thyroid care. It’s a gentle, well-prepared way to support your gut and liver, built in the right order for a body that’s already inflamed.
If you’re thinking “I have too much going on,” it’s two weeks and a few simple shifts, with two group coaching calls to walk you through it, and I’m doing it right alongside you.
We start together on the full moon, Sunday, October 25, and I’m not running it again with group support until 2027.
If you’re on thyroid medication and wondering whether a cleanse is right for you, bring that question to the live Q&A on Monday. That’s exactly what it’s for, and it won’t be on the replay.
Ann Hutyra from and I are going deep on all of it in The Monsters Within: Full Moon Parasite Protocol, a free masterclass on Monday, October 19 at 4pm MT.
