Did you know that supermarket chicken is lying to you? 🤯👇
If you think a perfectly pale, stark-white piece of chicken is a sign of high quality, think again. The reality of conventionally raised industrial chicken is far darker than you realize.
🐣 Real chicken is YELLOW, not white. When chickens are pasture-raised and allowed to roam free, they eat a diverse, natural diet packed with grass, bugs, corn, and marigold. These plants contain natural pigments called carotenoids, which give healthy chicken fat and skin its vibrant, golden hue.
🏭 Why is factory-farmed chicken so white?
1. The Diet: They are locked indoors and fed a uniform, nutrient-poor diet of plain grain.
2. The “Bleaching” Process: Up to 97% of USDA-regulated industrial chicken undergoes a chemical chlorine wash during processing. This standard sanitation step to kill pathogens essentially bleaches out whatever natural color the meat had left.
Stop eating stressed, nutrient-depleted, chemically-washed birds. Your health starts with knowing where your food actually comes from.
Look for pasture-raised or locally sourced poultry to get the real micronutrients your body deserves!
