We reject the assumption that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are limited in their capacity to enjoy the full human experience. Instead, The Wayfaring Band envisions a world where everybody matters, differences enrich, and opportunities are boundless. The mission of The Wayfaring Band is to provide support, build awareness, and foster genuine connection between people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities through education, socialization, and transformative travel. Flamenco dancing, rowboats in the park, sangria, paella, tapas, beautiful architecture, and a whole lot of walking!

Traveling to a new country brings plenty of opportunities to learn, grow, and be challenged. We navigated unfamiliar streets, experienced a different culture, worked through language barriers, figured things out as we went, and learned a lot about ourselves and each other along the way.

Thanks for the memories, Barcelona. We won’t soon forget you!

The Band has a magical way of bringing the most wonderful humans into our lives. Missy has shared many adventures with us, and this time she brought her nephew Nicholas along for the ride!

One of the best parts of The Band is how our family keeps growing. We are so grateful for the people who become part of our story, the friendships that grow along the way, and the joy of sharing this community with the people we love. ❤️
