Not all breast cancers are the same. Triple-negative breast cancer deserves to be understood.
Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) accounts for about 10–15% of breast cancer cases. It can grow and spread more quickly than some other types, and it has fewer treatment options because the cancer cells lack estrogen receptors, progesterone receptors, and high levels of HER2.
💗 Why does awareness matter?
TNBC is more common in Black women, younger women, and people with certain inherited gene changes, including BRCA1 mutations. These differences make awareness, access to care, and conversations with healthcare professionals especially important.
If you or someone you love has been diagnosed with TNBC, please know that although this diagnosis can bring difficult questions and uncertainty, treatment options are available. Every person’s situation is different, and an oncology team can help explain the options based on the individual diagnosis.
You deserve care that recognizes your experience, your needs, and the person behind the diagnosis.
