❤️‍🩹 CEASEFIRE DETROIT: SHOWING UP BEYOND THE SHOOTING SCENE

Following the October 12 shooting that injured a 7yr old girl & her 29yr old mother, Ceasefire Detroit joined community leaders, chaplains, DWIHN, and the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood and Community Safety to provide aftercare and support to the community.

Our work doesn’t end when the scene is cleared. We show up to support families, connect residents to resources, and help our community begin to heal.

Violence prevention is not just about stopping the next shooting, it’s about helping our community heal.

Together, we stand for safer neighborhoods and stronger communities. Please keep this mother and her little girl in your prayers. ❤️🙏🏽

PARENTS, COUNT DAY IS HERE!

Every student matters! ❤️ Make sure your children are in school and counted. Their attendance helps support classrooms, teachers, programs, resources, and opportunities for our young people.

Let’s show up for our children, our schools, and our community!

Today, we pause to remember the lives we lost on September 11, 2001. We remember the innocent victims, the brave first responders, the families who were forever changed, and the heroes who ran toward danger while others were running away.

Twenty-five years later, we will never forget.

May we continue to honor their memory by choosing peace over violence, unity over division, and love over hate.

We Remember. We Honor. We Will Never Forget.

Today wasn’t just an event… it was a movement.

Today, Ceasefire Detroit stood shoulder to shoulder with community organizations, faith leaders, activists, elected officials, neighbors, and countless supporters to demand JUSTICE FOR JADA.

Every life matters. Every child deserves to feel safe. Every family deserves peace. We refuse to allow another act of senseless violence to be forgotten.

When a child is harmed, the entire community is wounded. But today, we showed that love is louder than violence, unity is stronger than fear, and together our voices cannot be ignored.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to stand with Jada’s family and stand for what is right. Your presence sent a powerful message: Detroit will continue to fight for justice, accountability, healing, and safer communities.

This is not where the work ends. This is where the work continues.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.” — Matthew 5:9 🕊️💜

SUPPORT ShotSpotter.

This technology saves lives.

Just recently, ShotSpotter alerted officers to a shooting scene where a 7-year-old child had been critically wounded. Because of that rapid notification, officers were able to quickly locate the child and get him the emergency medical attention he desperately needed.

Today, HE IS ALIVE‼️

Every second matters when someone has been shot. ShotSpotter isn’t about replacing people, t’s about giving first responders the information they need to respond faster when lives are on the line.

If technology can help save even one child’s life, it’s worth supporting.

FRIENDLY REMINDER TO PARENTS & GUARDIANS
Detroit Fireworks Curfew Notice – 8:00 PM Tonight

Dear Parent/Guardian,

As Detroit prepares to celebrate tonight’s fireworks festivities, CeaseFire Detroit would like to provide a friendly reminder that the youth curfew has been temporarily moved up to 8:00 PM this evening.

Detroit City Code Section 29-3-11 prohibits minors from being present on public streets, sidewalks, parks, or other public places during designated curfew hours without a lawful exemption. The earlier curfew is intended to help ensure the safety of young people, families, and visitors attending events throughout the city.

At CeaseFire Detroit, our goal is not only to promote compliance with local ordinances but also to support the safety and well-being of Detroit’s youth. We encourage parents and guardians to have conversations with their children about personal safety, responsible decision-making, and the importance of following curfew guidelines.

If your family is in need of additional support, CeaseFire Detroit offers access to community resources, youth engagement opportunities, mentorship programs, violence prevention services, family support referrals, and other assistance designed to help strengthen families and create safer neighborhoods.

Thank you for your partnership and commitment to helping keep Detroit’s youth safe. Together, we can create safer communities and brighter futures for all.
