Itā€™s been a rough few weeks around here. There have been a lot of changes and loss.

Staffing changes, animal loss, production loss, herd changes, financial loss and trying to figure out what the future looks like for the dairyā€¦ or if itā€™s time to do something different. Iā€™m genuinely heartbroken that Iā€™m having to pivot my business yet again from the direction I had planned.

Dairy life is the hardest of all the farming choices one can choose. It takes consistency and commitment. I hope the right team members and answers will come along to keep it going.

I am praying for clarity and the path to be made clear. In the meantime, Iā€™m just trying to keep it steady.

Taxes are FINALLY done and accepted by the IRSā€¦.By the SKIN OF MY TEETH this year.

Bright side: Iā€™m better organized right now for 2026 bookkeeping/taxes than I have EVER EVER been.

I will say (love it or hate it) AI has earned its place in my financial organizational plan both for the law office and the farm business. I have learned to use a ton of tools specific to us this year.

Iā€™m ALMOST looking forward to tax time next year just to see the difference. šŸ™ƒ ALMOST.

I want to take a minute to tell yā€™all about Cornelia Springs Flower Farm. ā¤ļø Itā€™s right here in Dickson, and if you havenā€™t seen it, youā€™re missing out!

They have 29 acres of beautiful countryside, flower fields, and the prettiest barn. But what I love MOST is that four generations of their family call this place home. Itā€™s a family place, and that means something to me. Their values line up perfectly with ours. šŸ™‚
