We have experienced Caregivers that help assist the elderly and disabled persons that need assistance at home with daily living activities. While home health and home care are different, they make a pretty great team! 🤝

Southeast Alabama HomeCare provides the skilled nursing and therapy services patients need, while FirstLight Home Care helps fill the gaps with personal care, companionship, and everyday support between visits.

Meet the Newest Member of Our Training Team! 😂

We've officially welcomed a new training mannequin to FirstLight Home Care of Dothan! Our last one served us well, but after losing an arm, we figured it was time for retirement!

All jokes aside, we're always looking for ways to invest in our caregivers and improve the quality of care we provide to our clients.

At FirstLight, our caregivers don't just sit through presentations or read about caregiving techniques. They get real, hands-on practice using a medical bed, training mannequin, and other equipment to help prepare them for situations they may encounter in a client's home.

From safely repositioning someone in bed to assisting with personal care and mobility, we believe caregivers should have the opportunity to practice these important skills before they're responsible for helping someone's loved one.

Because when you're caring for someone's parent, grandparent, or spouse, preparation matters. 💚

We're proud to continue investing in our training program and giving our caregivers the tools, education, and confidence they need to provide compassionate, dependable care.

That's one of the ways we're working to raise the standard for home care in Dothan and the Wiregrass!

If you haven't met Amelia yet, you're in for a treat! She's outgoing, loves meeting new people, and has a genuine heart for helping others.

With years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, Amelia brings both healthcare knowledge and strong community connections to our team. She's passionate about building relationships and helping families throughout Dothan and the Wiregrass find the support they need.

Outside of FirstLight, Amelia is a busy mom, local small-business owner, and loves spending time with family and friends.

We're so excited to have her as part of our FirstLight family!

Behind every successful transition home, every carefully coordinated care plan, and every family finding the support they need, there's often a dedicated case manager helping make it all happen.

Case managers do so much more than coordinate services. They advocate for patients, guide families through overwhelming decisions, connect people with valuable resources, and help ensure no one feels alone while navigating their care.

At FirstLight Home Care of Dothan, we see firsthand how much of a difference that dedication makes. We know your days are filled with difficult conversations, countless moving pieces, and people depending on you to help find the best path forward.

Today, our Community Relations Specialist, Amelia, had the pleasure of attending the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) meeting in Dothan!

We’re so thankful for the invitation and the opportunity to meet some wonderful people, including Daniel, Stephen, and Linda, share information about FirstLight Home Care, and bring a few snacks for everyone to enjoy!

At FirstLight, we’re passionate about helping veterans and their families learn about home care services and potential VA benefits.
