NEW CLASS STARTS THIS WEEK!

You’ve probably heard that you should do strength training, but that doesn’t mean you should just go out and start doing hard stuff.

There’s a HOW behind getting stronger.

After 16+ years of working with people with injuries, pain, pelvic floor issues, and bodies that don’t always fit neatly into a standard exercise program, I’ve learned that most people don’t need to be pushed harder. They need to understand where to start, how to modify, and how to progress.

That’s why I created a class that offers the guidance you need.

Each week, I’ll design a complete workout incorporating:

🌬️ Breath Work
🤸 Mobility
🏋️ Strength
🔥 Core
⚡ Power & Beginning Plyometrics
⚖️ Balance

You’ll work through it at your own pace while I’m there to guide you, answer questions, and help you modify or progress exercises for YOUR body.

💙 This might be the right fit for you if…

✨ You’ve worked with me before and want more guidance and consistency as you continue getting stronger.

✨ You want to exercise but need some help starting slowly and figuring out where to begin.

✨ You’re postpartum, post-surgery, or just feeling weak and aren’t quite ready to jump into a traditional group fitness class.

✨ You’re transitioning out of PT but want a little more support before exercising completely on your own.

✨ Or maybe you simply know you need to get stronger—but you’re not sure HOW.

Just start where you are, and I’ll help you build from there.

📍 EX3 | Exeter
📅 Fridays at 1 PM
⏱️ 45–60 minutes
👥 Small Group : Only 6 People
💲 First Class: $20 | Regular Class: $40
*Additional payment options available.*

💙 Start where you are. Learn the HOW. Get stronger.

🍂 Prepare to Push is back for Fall!

Cristin is back in Exeter, and Prepare to Push classes are continuing at Mill Yoga.

If you’re in your 2nd or 3rd trimester, this is your chance to feel more prepared for delivery and actually learn how to feel your pelvic floor, connect with it, and know what to do when it’s time to push.

We’ll talk about positioning, breathing, pushing, and what your pelvic floor needs during delivery. And you’ll have time to ask Cristin anything. There are always questions that don’t quite get answered and you all don't always have time for prenatal PT.

You’ll also leave knowing what your postpartum care options are and when you might want a little extra support after baby arrives.

🤍 Partners are always welcome!
Just give us a heads-up when you register so we have an accurate count.

Sign up during your 2nd or 3rd trimester and head into delivery feeling informed, prepared, and more confident in your body.

Sign up on the website, IG, FB or send us a message via phone, text or email and we will get it!
❤️Cristin

Bittersweet day at Oceanside.

New beginnings paired with tears, hugs and many goodbyes. I am so thankful for everyone who has made Oceanside what it has been for 16 years. As I sit here alone after everyone has gone, I can’t help but think of all the milestones, celebrations, tears and joy that we have all experienced here. So many memories that will stay with me and I am grateful.

Although I am beyond excited to continue solo closer to home and be in the Exeter community again, I have loved working with these great people and will miss them dearly.

Thank you all and I I wish everyone the best!!

* My contact info is the same. I will answer my email and check messages. My Sept schedule is available to book and please reach out with any questions.

Have a great summer❤️❤️❤️

I got my baseline bone density scan today (NE Breast Center is top level BTW).

And after talking with the physicians there, we all agreed on one thing:

65 is too late.

Current guidelines recommend routine bone density screening at age 65 for most women. But by then, many women have already spent years losing bone mass as estrogen levels decline. This is not PREVENTION.

In my opinion, and increasingly among many clinicians who care for women in midlife, the conversation should start much earlier.

I would love to see a baseline DEXA scan become standard during perimenopause, if we had to put an age, 45, but really it should be when hormonal changes begin to accelerate and before significant bone loss has occurred.

Why?

Because you can’t change what you don’t measure AND many people don’t even understand their risk.

A baseline gives you valuable information about where you are starting, your future fracture risk, and whether you need to be more proactive with strength training, nutrition, hormone discussions, or other interventions. Sometimes the numbers can be motivating to help before there is a major problem.

The reality is that many women don’t discover they have low bone density until after a fracture. By then, we’re playing catch-up.

The good news? A DEXA scan is quick, easy, and surprisingly affordable.

You do need an MD order (perimenopause can be the diagnosis), but if insurance doesn’t cover it, the cost is often much lower than people expect. Around $75 at this center and about $125 at many local facilities.

And can we talk about the experience?

The New England Breast Center was wonderful. It honestly felt more like a spa than a medical office (minus the massage). Warm, welcoming, efficient, and focused on women’s health.

Even better, I discovered that I know one of the physicians there. We’ve spent many hours together at baseball fields over the years, and she’s exactly the kind of woman helping move healthcare forward, thoughtful, evidence-based, and focused on prevention instead of waiting for problems to happen.

If you’re in your 40s or navigating hormonal shifts, have a conversation with your provider about your bone health! NOW!

One of the things I am most proud of in my professional journey is what we built with The Tide at Oceanside.

Too often in healthcare and fitness, egos and turf wars get in the way. Physical therapists and personal trainers should be collaborating, not competing. When they work together, people get better results.

Physical therapists help people recover from injury, improve movement, and return to doing what they love. Personal trainers help people continue that journey, building strength, confidence, and consistency over time. Most of us do better when we have a coach and guide in our corner and we saw the results over the last 3 years.

What we created at The Tide was special because it was built on respect, collaboration, and trust.

As The Tide comes to a close, it was important to me to find a place I could confidently recommend. After meeting with Bill and learning more about Limitless Fitness, I found a team that shares many of the same values we worked so hard to create.

Their coaches are passionate about helping people reach their goals, meet people where they are, and focus on long-term success. Because of that, I feel confident recommending Limitless Fitness as the next step for many of our training clients.

Thank you, Bill, for taking the time to show me around and helping make this transition seamless for our community.

And for those wondering, I’m not going anywhere.

I will continue practicing physical therapy and remain available to support your goals. Whether you need help with pelvic health concers, an injury, aches and pains, new diagnoses, dry needling, bodywork, movement assessments, or simply want to make sure your training program fits your medical needs, I will be here for you.

You don't have to be injured to work with a PT. Sometimes the best investment is having a trusted professional help you stay healthy, strong, and moving well.

Here's to continuing to become the strongest version of ourselves.

I love collaboration. I love vision. And I love asking, "How can we do this better?" That is why this week of classes and workshops filled my bucket!

𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁- 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝘂𝘀𝗵 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴.

One of my goals this year was to work toward a better birth experience. More specifically, can we help shorten the pushing phase of labor? Because longer pushing often means more problems. That's when I usually meet people, after birth, dealing with pelvic floor issues, prolapse, incontinence, pain, or recovery challenges that can last for years.

As a PT, I spend my days helping people after the fact. But I kept wondering: what if we could help before there is a problem?

That's where Prepare to Push came from.

Not because I think there is one right way to give birth. Not because I can guarantee an easy labor. Birth is messy and unpredictable. But we can prepare. We can help people understand their bodies, learn how to work with the process instead of fighting it, and build confidence before the big day.

After six months of teaching this class, I'm finally hearing the other side. Parents telling me they felt empowered. They understood what was happening. They felt connected to their bodies. Some have even shared that pushing felt easier and recovery felt better.

Do I have a giant research study proving this? Nope. I barely have time to eat lunch some days. But the research does support education, positioning, and preparation for improving outcomes. More importantly, my entire practice is based on helping pelvic floor muscles move better. I know what happens when they don't. It makes sense to me that helping before delivery is better than waiting until after.

𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱- 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝘁𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝘂𝘀𝗵, 𝗯𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗺 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲.

It reminded me how many amazing people are working toward the same goal. Doulas. Midwives. Nurses. OBs. PTs. We all want healthier moms, healthier babies, and better experiences.

But one thing became really obvious: we still have a communication problem.

There is not enough understanding between birth professionals. Too often we're all saying similar things but in different ways, or we don't fully understand each other's role.

I have this dream of getting everyone in one room. OBs. Labor and delivery nurses. Doulas. Midwives. PTs.

Can we get on the same page?

Can we figure out where we are stuck?

Can we give people more consistent, supportive messages instead of making them navigate a system that is already overwhelming?

Because the reality is that healthcare is often working against us. Insurance companies aren't making this easier. Fragmented care isn't making this easier. Yet we keep expecting better outcomes.

If we want better care, we have to work together.

I'll keep teaching these classes because I believe knowledge matters. Preparation matters. Understanding your body matters.

AND- Healthcare professionals- we also need to keep talking. It is now us against the insurance companies- not against each other.
Together we need to fight for the best outcomes!
