💜🌷 **CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF COMPASSION, COMMITMENT & SERVICE!** 🌷💜

Amedisys Hospice proudly celebrates and extends our heartfelt gratitude to **Ms. Betty Henderson** for her incredible **20 years of dedicated volunteer service!** ❤️

Ms. Betty was recently honored at a special celebration held at **Uptown 101 in Oxford, NC**, where we gathered to recognize her years of selfless service, compassion, and unwavering commitment to others. As she prepares to retire from her volunteer role at the end of this year, we reflect on the countless ways she has made a difference in the lives of patients, families, and those fortunate enough to know her.

Volunteering in hospice care is a special calling. It requires a compassionate heart, a spirit of understanding, and a willingness to show up for others during some of life's most delicate and challenging moments. For 20 years, Ms. Betty has demonstrated these qualities through her willingness to serve, her kindness, and her dedication to making a difference.

**Regional Volunteer Coordinator Roberta Freeman shared these heartfelt words:**

*"Ms. Betty's love for helping others, her faith as a woman of God, and her willingness to be led by God's Spirit have been the strengthening factors behind her service in such a delicate capacity. Her commitment to serving others is a true reflection of her heart and her faith. It has been a blessing to recognize her for 20 years of giving, caring, and making a difference. Wherever her next volunteer journey leads her, the organization and the people she serves will be truly fortunate to have her as part of their team."*

During the celebration, Ms. Betty was presented with **gifts and heartfelt cards of appreciation** as tokens of gratitude for the time, love, and compassion she has poured into the Amedisys Hospice volunteer program over the past two decades. These expressions of appreciation serve as a reminder that her service has not gone unnoticed and that the impact of her kindness will continue long after her retirement.

Ms. Betty, thank you for answering the call to serve. Thank you for giving your time, sharing your heart, and allowing God to use you as a blessing to others. While we will certainly miss having you serve as part of our volunteer team, we celebrate the legacy of compassion you leave behind.

As you prepare to close this chapter, we pray that God continues to guide your steps, open new doors, and bless you abundantly in whatever comes next. **Retirement from Amedisys Hospice may mark the end of one chapter, but it certainly does not mean the end of your calling to serve.** 🙏🏽💐

With sincere appreciation and gratitude, congratulations on **20 YEARS OF SERVICE, MS. BETTY!** You are appreciated, you are celebrated, and you will always be part of the Amedisys Hospice family. 💜

On World Hospice and Palliative Care Day, we're highlighting the important role hospice and palliative care play in helping patients and families navigate serious illness.

Both hospice and palliative care focus on comfort, quality of life and support, helping patients receive care that aligns with their goals and wishes. Palliative care can begin at diagnosis and alongside treatment. Hospice care is typically chosen when treatment is no longer working or a patient decides to stop curative treatment for a terminal illness, shifting the focus to comfort, quality of life and support for both the patient and their loved ones.
