🌺 One of nature's prettiest cups of tea!

If you've never watched hibiscus steep, you're missing out on one of my favorite things about this beautiful botanical.

As the dried hibiscus steeps in hot water, it releases a gorgeous ruby-red color. And that color isn't from artificial dyes or coloring!

Hibiscus naturally contains plant pigments called anthocyanins, which are also responsible for the beautiful red, purple, and blue colors found in many fruits and vegetables.

Here's another interesting fact! The part commonly used to make hibiscus tea isn't actually the flower petals. It's the calyces, the fleshy structures that surround and protect the developing seedpod.

Hibiscus has a naturally tart, fruity flavor that reminds many people of cranberries.

🌿 Some of the most interesting herbs are the ones people walk right past without realizing their history!

Mullein is one of those plants. With its tall flowering stalks and soft, velvety leaves, it's easy to recognize once you know what you're looking for.

For generations, mullein leaves have been gathered, dried, and prepared as herbal tea. One interesting thing about mullein is that those fuzzy little hairs on the leaves are why careful straining through a fine filter is especially important when preparing a cup.

Wild cherry bark has an equally interesting place in traditional herbalism. It comes from the wild cherry tree, and its bark has been used in herbal preparations for centuries.
