provides high-quality food to students.

Tommy Wheeler, Owner and Co-Founder of Tidewater Grain Co. says, “Good food is good food. There’s no reason why our kids shouldn’t have the same quality of food [at school] that they would get at the finest restaurant.”

SNAP and school meals work together to help families stretch their grocery budget. SNAP cuts threaten both programs. Millions of children have already lost SNAP after HR 1, meaning less money for families and for school nutrition programs.

Families shouldn’t have to choose between groceries and medical care.

Thank you, Governor Josh Stein, for highlighting in The News & Observer how cuts to food assistance and Medicaid put North Carolina families—and the communities supporting them at risk.

SNAP helps put food on the table. Medicaid helps families get the care they need. Both are essential to a healthier North Carolina.

We join Governor Stein in urging Congress to reverse these cuts and protect SNAP and Medicaid. Families already facing rising costs need dependable support.

In H.R.1, Congress cut the Medicaid program by $1 trillion and loaded it with bureaucracy and paperwork. What that means in North Carolina.

Every school day, more than 30 million students across the country eat a school lunch, and it’s a lot more work than most people realize to get a balanced, kid-approved meal on the table every single day.

National School Lunch Week supported by the School Nutrition Association gives us a reason to say thank you a little louder!
