I was honored to attend yesterday and accept a donation for the Pink Gravel Fund a check for $1200.00. These Emporia 6th graders were loud and proud of their work to assist families and organizations in the community of Emporia and surrounding area.

The Pink Gravel Fund was 1 of 5 selected to receive money from their hard work.

Greetings all!

Pink Gravel was contacted recently to be apart of an event being organized by members of the 175th MRBC at the Whitside Gym in Ft. Riley, KS on October 22nd at 5pm.

Flyers are not out yet, but I want to get the word to you as this event highlights breast cancer awareness AND *drum roll* Pink Gravel :)

I was contacted by a Sergeant First Class of the 175th MRBC who found Pink Gravel from a web search and asked if we would be willing to attend, speak a few minutes about what PG is doing in Riley County and area, and cheer on the participants.

And what are they participanting in? . . A Weightlifting Competition for beginners and above. Family friendly and Pink Shirts are the encouraged attire. Prizes for winners and there are raffles as well.

I would LOVE to have some friends attend in Pink Gravel shirts or even jerseys to cheer competitors on. I am told there is a chance this could become an annual event. So I want to show good representation.

And If you want to participate, let me know and I will get you details. It involves deadlifting, bench press, and more. I am totally pumped for this opportunity to share Pink Gravel and the Fund in this new environment on Ft. Riley.

This Saturday is our JUST A CHILL RIDE-50K (It's Grrr-8t!) Event in Dwight. Free to register on Bikereg. Includes a support stop and post ride chili and cinnamon rolls!

Weather is looking good too. I will work to get the route out this evening. With the rain this week, will keep to primary gravel roads to keep it chill.

It was great to meet these riders on their journey to raise funds for cancer research. All so determined and with their own reasons as to why they took on this challenge. (These folks inspire me to want to get back on the bike. I really want to. . .I am not sure what holds me back. 🤔🤔)

Anyway, I am proud to have a small roll in this great multi-continent event for a cause near and dear to me and my family. We hope to see them back for a 3rd year in 2027!

Proud to have crossed paths with organizers of the event route in the spring of 2025. Today, cyclist completing the Kansas leg of C2C4C route will use The Event Center - TEC as their lunch pit stop on their way to Topeka.

The last two weekends have been all gravel! Fun times had making CP for the final Solstice Gravel Grinder and not the final Rock Ridge Gravel. My few pics of the two weekends.
