What does neuroaffirming mental health care look like? ππ
At Upstate Carolina Autism Associates (UCAA), it starts with understanding youβyour strengths, experiences, challenges, and goals.
We support children, teens, adults, and families navigating autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions.
πΏ Neuroaffirming care respects differences in how people think, learn, communicate, and experience the world. We adapt care to your needs, including your communication style, sensory preferences, and processing time.
For autistic people and people with ADHD, support may include understanding sensory needs, building executive functioning skills, and navigating relationships or daily demands. When anxiety, depression, or burnout are present, we also address the distress and its impact on everyday life.
That might mean using visual tools, adjusting the pace of a session, or developing coping strategies that work with your needs and routines. Your voice and choices help guide the process.
Connection matters, too! Our NeuroConnect and NeuroTeens social gatherings offer opportunities to meet others and build community. π€
