The world suffered a big loss this past week. My dad passed away suddenly last Tuesday morning, and while there will never be enough words to express the incredible man he was, his family will do the best we can to honor him through our actions. It gives me no small amount of comfort to know he was proud of what I’m doing, and so excited for my future. My dad planted the small business seed for me from a young age, and was my biggest cheerleader, musical influence, business advisor, life coach, and source of encouragement when together we decided that I should start my own business. Ideas never stayed in his head long before they became reality. It was because of the example he set to my brother and I that we are the happy, fulfilled, and passionate small business owners we are today, following in the footsteps of the greatest role model we’ve had the privilege to know. Finger Lakes Music Therapy wouldn’t exist without my dad, and wouldn’t be half of what it’s grown into without his constant support, advice, and encouragement. My dad was hard working, dedicated, intelligent, kind, and wise beyond his too few years. Thank you to the man who is the reason I do what I do, and who gave me the confidence to do it. Everything we do is for you.
