At just 3 years old, Aron was missing out on many of the sounds most children take for granted, including the sound of his mother's voice.
Living in Santa Ana, El Salvador, Aron struggled with conductive hearing loss, making it difficult to communicate, develop his speech, and fully connect with the world around him.
That began to change when Starkey Hearing Foundation fitted him with a bone conduction hearing device. Unlike traditional hearing aids, this technology sends sound vibrations through the bones of the skull directly to the inner ear, bypassing the outer and middle ear where his hearing loss occurs.
The moment Aron heard his mother's voice clearly, his expression said it all. What started as surprise quickly turned into a beautiful smile and laughter.
Today, Aron is making wonderful progress. He proudly wears his hearing device, continues developing his speech, and is discovering new ways to communicate with the people he loves.
For Aron, hearing isn't just about discovering new sounds. It's about having the opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with the world around him.
And at just 3 years old, his journey is only beginning.
So the World May Hear.
