In 1804, Louisiana became the first state to require a license to practice pharmacy. Prior, anyone could run a pharmacy after a brief apprenticeship. In 1816, Louis Dufilho, Jr. became the first to be licensed. His historic pharmacy is now the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum, which houses pharmacy artifacts.💊🇺🇸
