🎀 BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH 🎀
Nourish your body. Support your health. Know your risk. Get screened.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an important reminder that caring for our health goes beyond one test or one month of the year.
From a functional and preventative wellness perspective, we focus on creating an environment that supports overall health, metabolic wellness, immune function, and recovery—while never replacing appropriate screening or medical treatment.
🌿 NOURISH YOUR BODY
Choose mostly whole, nutrient-dense foods: colorful vegetables and fruits, quality protein, healthy fats, fiber, and minimally processed foods.
💪 SUPPORT A HEALTHY IMMUNE SYSTEM
Adequate protein and nutrients such as vitamin D, zinc, selenium, omega-3 fatty acids, and other micronutrients are important for normal immune function. Supplementation should be individualized when appropriate rather than assuming more is always better.
🥦 SUPPORT METABOLIC HEALTH
Maintaining a healthy body composition, staying physically active, getting adequate sleep, and addressing insulin resistance and other metabolic concerns are meaningful parts of long-term health.
🧘♀️ MAKE RECOVERY A PRIORITY
Chronic stress can affect sleep, appetite, energy, and overall well-being. Build in movement, rest, meaningful relationships, time outdoors, and whatever helps you truly recharge.
🚭 REDUCE MODIFIABLE RISK
Avoid to***co, limit alcohol, maintain regular physical activity, and work toward a healthy weight and metabolic profile.
🩷 KNOW YOUR BODY & YOUR RISK
Know your family history and personal risk factors. Report new breast lumps, ni**le changes, skin changes, or other concerning symptoms promptly.
And most importantly…
🎀 DON’T SKIP YOUR RECOMMENDED BREAST CANCER SCREENING.
Functional and preventative medicine should complement evidence-based screening—not replace it.
At Coastline Functional Wellness Center, our goal is to help you understand what’s happening inside your body and build sustainable habits that support your health for the long haul.
This October, wear the pink—but also schedule the appointment, have the conversation, nourish your body, move your body, and encourage the women you love to do the same. 🩷
