Acupuncture isn’t about enduring pain. It’s about creating space for your body to soften, settle, and reconnect. One of the biggest misconceptions about acupuncture is that it must be painful.

Acupuncture needles are hair thin, solid (not hollow like a syringe), & gently inserted with a quick tap. The sensation is often much more subtle than people imagine.

It can feel like a tiny tap. A gentle tingle. A feeling of heaviness, as if the earth is cradling you. A lightness, as if something inside you is finally letting go.

You might feel qi spreading through the body, a gentle pulse, a soft vibration, a sensation of being grounded or floating. A wave of relaxation. A quiet stillness. A sense of openness, clarity, or energy beginning to flow.

✨ Curious about acupuncture? Your first treatment might feel nothing like you imagined.

Cupping is one of my favorite additions to a TCM treatment When our muscles and soft tissues are tight, constricted, dehydrated, stiff, or contracted, it can affect the free flow of qi and blood through the channels.

In TCM, when that flow becomes restricted, we describe it as qi and blood stagnation.

Cupping helps create movement through those tissues & get things flowing again.

Swipe through to learn more about the different types of cupping and what those colorful marks may mean.

Cupping is included in all new patient appointments + 60 & 90-minute follow-ups.

In TCM we pay attention to the details of your cycle because they can give us clues about your overall health and patterns.
The quality of your pain, the presence of clots, how heavy your bleeding is, your PMS symptoms, mood changes, and even how your energy shifts throughout your cycle can all tell us something.

This is also where Chinese herbal medicine can be a valuable part of care! Rather than choosing an herb based on one symptom, classic formulas, used for hundreds of years, are traditionally selected according to your individual pattern and adjusted as your body changes.

For menstrual and gynecological concerns, herbal therapy is often used consistently over several cycles, commonly at least 3, while we observe how your body responds.
Your cycle isn't something to simply endure or ignore. It can be a conversation with your body.

The more we learn to listen, the more we can understand.

Save this for your next cycle and start noticing what your body is telling you.

YOUR BLOATING HAS A STORY

If bloating, gas, constipation, diarrhea, or digestive discomfort has become your “normal,” it may be worth looking deeper.

Chinese medicine can help us investigate the pattern behind your symptoms, not just the symptom itself. Come see me if you'd like to work on this.

Each acupuncture point carries a name, an image, a story and a deeper meaning reflecting the connection between body, mind, emotions & your spirit.

The points we use can support the physical body while also healing the mind and spirit by creating space for us to calm, release, reconnect, ground, restore, rebalance, and come back to ourselves.

That’s part of the beauty of Chinese medicine: we treat the whole person, not just the symptom. ✨
