1 full year of The NutriDoula 🥹💚

Here’s just a few things I’ve accomplished over the past year:

✨ Served over 50 families for Nutrition and Doula support
✨ Welcomed 46 babies including 2 sets of twins and 1 sleeping angel
✨ Encapsulated 15 placentas
✨ Worked to better understand the maternal healthcare crisis in New Mexico
✨ Contracted with both New Mexico and Texas Medicaid for Doula Support
✨ Contracted with Tricare to better support military families

My dream from a little girl was always to own my own private practice. I can say the type of practice has definitely evolved over the past 20 years, but I’ve did it! Can’t wait to see where the next year takes me 💚🥹

9 babies in 12 days!

To each of these families, thank you for allowing me in your space, trusting me along the journey, and honestly, for just being so understanding!

3 August babies snuck in to July, and I honestly wouldn’t have had it any other way!

God is in control of all things and couldn’t have done it without his guidance. Now it’s time for rest… I hope! 😝💚

Yesterday morning, I woke up to a text giving me an update about a recent appointment and also a concern that mom hadn’t felt baby move in a while. So recommended she head to the hospital just to be safe and let her know that decreased fetal movement is can be a red flag.

Mom agreed. She also let me know what she’d been having some contractions that were inconsistent and starting to get a bit more intense. Long story short, we went from a red flag scare to precipitous labor and baby girl was born! Mom and baby are both doing amazing 💚😮‍💨

We have a new record! 3 babies in exactly 24 hours! 😅😮‍💨

After days of early labor, a water break scare, and a diagnosis of preeclampsia, this mama finally got to meet her baby boy! So proud of her for sticking to her guns and going unmedicated during her emergency induction! 💪🏽

Being at the right place at the right time, doesn’t always feel good in the moment.

Last night I had two mom’s go into labor one and then the other. Two different locations, two different plans. Although I was so sad to leave one mom, for the fear of missing her delivery, I was called to my other mom who ultimately needed me more.

I’m honored to have been able to support both of these families in the ways they needed. Being a doula looks different for each client, and I’m thankful I was able to show up for both of these women just how I was meant to. 🙌🏽💚

Sometimes things don’t go as planned, and that’s OK!

This mama and I worked together to create her perfect birth experience, just for most of it not to come to fruition. Everything from family doubting her plan, to an unsupportive provider; and still, she was able to successfully birth her baby boy vaginally.

This experience reminded us all that God’s Will always prevails. Every prayer was answered and mom and baby boy are doing wonderful! 💚🙌🏽
