Here's something most women in El Paso don't know: Hispanic women have among the highest rates of dense breast tissue of any group studied. And El Paso is about 81% Hispanic.
Dense tissue can hide tumors from a standard mammogram. Pairing it with an ultrasound catches what mammography alone might miss, with zero added radiation.
If your last mammogram mentioned "dense breasts," ask your doctor about adding an ultrasound. Texas law requires coverage, and we're happy to double-check the your coverage.

Dense breast tissue can hide small tumors on a mammogram. If you've ever been told you have "dense breasts," here's exactly what to say at your next appointment:
"Based on my breast density, should I also get a screening ultrasound?"
That one question is enough to start the conversation. In Texas, insurance is required to cover supplemental ultrasound for patients with dense tissue, often at no more out of pocket than your mammogram. We can check your coverage.
