Before healing my relationship with food, I was doing everything “right.”
I followed everyone’s advice to:
🌟 Keep junk foods out of the house so I wasn’t tempted
🌟 Track my calories so I wouldn’t overeat
🌟 Plan all my meals and deny myself foods that weren’t part of the plan
But I would still:
💥 Stress over food every second of the day
💥 Hate my body, even if I did lose weight
💥 Need food for comfort, and eventually overeat
💥 Feel like I couldn’t trust myself around food
Fast forward a few years, and I realized something needed to change. Fast.
The food noise was getting louder, the shame was getting greater, and I lived in constant fear of losing control.
So, I tried intuitive eating! No more food rules, no more shame. Just eating what I want and moving on.
That went…. Terribly 🫠
My body only wanted sweets, I was always overeating, and I still couldn’t get past the shame.
I knew intuitive eating was the goal, but I DIDN’T know you can’t just jump right into it - you have to actively work TOWARD intuitive eating. Slowly. Intentionally.
For me, this looked like:
❤️🩹 Getting my hunger + fullness cues back
❤️🩹 Addressing my emotional eating
❤️🩹 Working through my body image issues
❤️🩹 Understanding where my food rules came from
❤️🩹 Challenging my all-or-nothing thinking
aaand that only covers about half of it.
Once I did do that work, though, my entire life changed for the better.
I could eat whatever I wanted without shame.
I could stop as soon as I was full.
I thought about food a NORMAL amount.
I genuinely wanted mostly healthy foods.
I stopped fearing weight gain/hating my body.
I never tracked another freakin’ calorie again.
And this is exactly what we teach in our program, Nourished & Free - we’ve helped hundreds of women break free from their food struggles (even after 50+ years of food noise !!)
I know it’s possible for you, too 🫶
