I’ve been in a season of listening. Learning to hear God. Leaning into His wisdom and letting go of my own need for control. It takes a conscious effort since I like “control “.
Since my twenties, I have struggled with an Auto immune issue that began after a traumatic few years and a lifetime of poor choices and a Medical system that wasn’t created to heal at all.
It’s a very long story..
Along the way, I have learned so much about the body, food, supplements, various healing modalities etc.. Eventually leading me to become a certified functional nutritional counselor and clinical herbalist.
All good and having an important role to play in healing.
But… what most people miss is the Spiritual and emotional healing that guides our Temple (flesh) to do what it was created to do-heal.
Most “influencers “ these days want to convince you they have found the Holy Grail of fixes- the potions, suppliments, diet, machines or programs that just so happen to cost a lot of money-
And most folks like that. It’s so much easier than taking the long and narrow road to actual wholeness.
But real healing looks more like this-
First the “undoing, unlearning and giving up control “ part.
Laying at the feet of Jesus, and releasing everything into His hands.
Then comes the Forgiveness- for the people that have wounded you. Sometimes, most times that requires ongoing forgiveness.
Next is learning to listen- to your body, your heart and ultimately God. This requires you to actually shut up- lay down the phone, turn off the noise, say no to things that steal your peace.very hard in a world that WANTS to keep you distracted.
Something so many “experts “ don’t explain is there are different levels of healing:
As I said before.
Physical
Emotional
Spiritual
You might want your body healing but perhaps and probably so, God wants your Spirit healed most of all- if you died today , having a healthy body wouldn’t seal your eternity would it?
And if then next He works on your Emotional healing- the self talk, the gratitude, then since your cells actually listen to your self talk, your body will do what it was designed to do if you are listening to and trusting it.
Of course, your lifestyle, food choices, sleep, etc are paramount in your ability to heal but you should by now be conscious of our broken food system and the poison water, air, etc( if not, I don’t know what to tell you)
If you are willing, patient and open you will find not only a body that feels better but a Faith that sustains you and wisdom that you can help others with
That’s ultimately our job!
