🗣️ Instead of “Say this!”… try modeling it!
When we’re helping children develop speech and language, we don’t always need to ask them to repeat us. In fact, taking the pressure off can create more opportunities for communication.
Try modeling the words you want your child to learn:
❌ “Say ‘more.’”
✅ “More!” + hand them more
❌ “Say ‘go.’”
✅ “Go, go, go!” as you push the car
❌ “What color is it? Say blue.”
✅ “It’s blue! Blue car!”
The goal isn’t always immediate imitation. Hearing meaningful words repeated during everyday routines gives children opportunities to learn, understand, and eventually use those words themselves. ❤️
✨ Model it. Repeat it. Give them time.
