When was the last time you actually adjusted your chair?

Today is International Adjust Your Chair Day, and if you spend hours at a desk, a few small changes to your setup can make a big difference in how your body feels at the end of the day.

Check your chair height, back support, and where your feet land. Ideally, your feet should be supported, your knees comfortable, and your screen positioned so you aren’t constantly looking down or reaching forward.

Your chair shouldn’t just fit your desk, it should fit you.

Strong support starts with strong bones.

Biost® is formulated to support skeletal and cellular health and provides manganese, an essential mineral that helps support normal bone formation and overall skeletal health.*

It also contains veal bone PMG™ extract as part of Standard Process’s whole-food-based formulation.

It’s a good reminder that taking care of your musculoskeletal system includes more than just your joints. Bone health matters too.

Today is World Spine Day.

Your spine is involved in nearly everything you do, standing, walking, bending, lifting, working, playing, and simply moving through your day.

World Spine Day is a reminder to give your spine some attention too: stay active, change positions throughout the day, use good lifting habits, and pay attention when something doesn’t feel right.

Take care of the spine that helps keep you moving.

Small Movement Breaks Matter

You don’t need a full workout to give your body a break. A few minutes of standing, stretching, or walking between tasks can help ease musculoskeletal discomfort, particularly when it breaks up long periods of sitting or staying in one position.

That’s encouraging for anyone who struggles to fit structured exercise into a busy day. Regular changes in movement and posture give your muscles and joints a chance to move after extended periods of stillness.

We often see this with patients who spend hours at a desk or on their feet in one position. Small movement breaks throughout the day can also complement the progress you’re making during your visits with us. A minute here and there may not feel like much, but done consistently, this small habit can make a big difference.

Keep saying yes to the things you love!

The goal isn’t just to get through the day.

It’s to keep saying yes to the things that make life feel full; walks with the dog, weekends away, time with family, hobbies, adventures, and all the little things you look forward to.

Take care of yourself in ways that help you keep showing up for the life you love.

Here’s to more yeses.

It’s National Sneakers Day!

The shoes you wear can influence how you walk, stand, and absorb impact which means they can affect more than just your feet.

Poorly fitting or worn-out shoes may change the way force travels through your ankles, knees, hips, and back.

A good reminder today: your foundation matters.

Take another “step” toward foundation support with custom orthotics. Healthy Families Chiropractic has a self-guided Foot Levelers scanner available. No appointment necessary. Stop in anytime to scan your feet and see how your body is being supported from the ground up!

Always carrying your child on the same hip?

It’s such a natural habit that most parents and caregivers don’t think twice about it, but over time, your body may start compensating.

This article explains what repeated one-sided carrying can do to your hips, spine, and surrounding muscles, plus a few simple ways to make it easier on your body.

Propping a child on one hip while you cook dinner, answer the door, or just walk across a room, is one of the most natural movements a parent or caregiver makes. But that same natural habit, repeated day after day, can eventually reshape how your spine and hips carry your own weight.

Move a little. Stretch a little. Rest when you need it. And don’t ignore the aches that keep trying to get your attention.
