Sometimes, a little animal magic can make a big difference.

Essentia Health and the Lake Superior Zoo have teamed up to bring comfort, curiosity and a little more joy to kids visiting the pediatrics waiting room.

The new station features animal stories, board books, and a writing area where kids can send postcards to their favorite zoo animals — many of whom are experiencing routine wellness checkups, allergies, or other health challenges. The project was made possible through funding from the Essentia Health Foundation.

We’re proud to partner with the Lake Superior Zoo to help make healthcare visits a little brighter for kids, families, and animals.

Every nurse has a story behind why they answered the call.

For Dani Edwards, becoming a nurse was about helping people. Today, that “why” continues to shape the way she leads, cares for patients, and supports fellow nurses.

Across Essentia Health, our nurses bring their own stories, experiences and passion to the people and communities they serve across Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Minnesota’s healthcare community has been defined by innovation, excellence, and a commitment to the communities we serve. At Essentia Health, we are proud to have been part of that history for over a century. Today, we start writing our next chapter with another trusted nonprofit Minnesota institution. We are excited to announce that HealthPartners and Essentia have agreed to combine our organizations.

As one nonprofit health system, we will be able to better innovate and grow our workforce. That strong foundation will make us even better partners for our patients, working together to make care more affordable and accessible. Together, we can help ensure people live their healthiest lives, wherever they call home.

Good conversations often start around a table.

Across the communities we serve, Essentia Health is bringing people together to listen, learn and talk about the health issues that matter most locally.

From Fargo-Moorhead to Cloquet and beyond, we’re grateful for the community members who continue to share their perspectives and help shape healthier communities.
