Meet Bryan! 🎨

Bryan is an artist, a proud member of the Allied Stars Special Olympics Team, and someone who keeps very busy! He swims, plays hockey with the Connecticut Chasers Special Hockey Team, and has the patience for 2,000-piece puzzles. He's also a big Disney fan, and his family means the world to him.

Michael is a talented photographer who combines his love of exploring with his phone-savvy to create beautiful images. His inspiration comes directly from his hikes and walks in nature — every outing becomes a new adventure and a chance to capture something special. His curiosity drives him to keep exploring, learning, and discovering wherever he goes.

Michael's photography is high-quality and nature-focused. He plays with saturation and contrast to bring out texture and lighting, capturing everything from wide landscape shots to close-up details of animals and flowers. His love for the outdoors comes through clearly in every image.

Bring the whole family for a fall morning of pumpkin painting and crafts, face painting, music by DJ Kyle, yard games, vendors, raffles, and the Fat City Food Truck. All activities are free!

Meet Victoria! 🎨

When Victoria (a featured artist at Art & Abilities!) joined Allied in 2022 she began an exciting creative journey. With support from staff, she turned her love of art into a greeting card microbusiness, Creations by Victoria, sharing her imagination with everyone who opens one of her cards.

And her talents don't stop at paper and ink… Victoria also paints, draws, and explores all kinds of arts and crafts. One of her favorites is polymer clay, where she brings beloved anime characters to life one careful piece at a time.

Meet Michael!

Michael, who participates in Allied’s Individualized Day Program -- and who will be a featured artist at Art & Abilities! -- is curious, adventurous, and always interested in learning something new. He is a history buff–especially when it comes to William Gillette, and learning about his life and historic Connecticut home, Gillette Castle. He also loves to study Boeing airplanes and Amtrak trains. As a talented nature photographer, Michael loves to be outside, hiking and taking walks. 📷

In addition to his range of interests, Michael values family and friends. He often spends time with his dads, Eric and Fernando, his brothers, Keith and Sebastion, and their dog, Oakly. He particularly enjoys when they’re able to go outside and explore together. 🌻🌱

Happy Labor Day! 🧡 Today, we're celebrating the people who make everything we do possible — our staff, our direct support professionals, and everyone who shows up with heart and professionalism, every single day. Thank you for all you do!

The Allied Community Services Sports & Recreation department hosts many exciting events that allow our participants to get active and have fun!

The participants recently celebrated an incredible showing at the Special Olympics State Summer Games, where 48 Enfield Stars competed in swimming, walking, and track & field. Our athletes also got to experience fun activities like an opening ceremony, Olympic Town activities, a beach-themed dance, and a closing pizza party. Everyone demonstrated determination, sportsmanship, and teamwork throughout the three-day event—and many returned home with gold, silver, and bronze medals. We couldn't be prouder! 🥇🥈🥉
