Being a good surgeon sometimes means knowing when NOT to operate.
Nearly 30 years ago, I took an oath in medical school to do no harm. That promise has stayed with me throughout my career, and it continues to guide every decision I make.
As a surgeon, I believe achieving a beautiful result should never come at the expense of patient safety. That means being honest about what’s appropriate, knowing when to say no, and always putting the patient’s best interests first.
