As a therapist, I don’t recommend holding onto resentment… but apparently I do recommend keeping photographic evidence for the afterlife. 😂

Consider this your reminder: some relationships are lessons, some are blessings, and some are simply excellent material for therapy or proof to God did your time in hell 🔥 on earth. 🫠

Each time she pulled the knife from her back, she realized it wasn’t an enemy who had put it there—it was someone she had loved, trusted, and never imagined would hurt her.

So, over time, she learned to guard her heart. She questioned intentions, kept people at a distance, and became cautious of anyone who tried to get too close.

It wasn’t that she stopped loving people.
She simply learned that sometimes the deepest wounds come from the hands you once felt safest holding.

And healing, for her, became more than removing the knives—it became learning that not everyone who approaches her is there to hurt her. ❤️‍🩹

Maybe 🤔 ladies, this is your friendly reminder to get your vision 👁️ checked… or go to therapy.

Because if you keep attracting emotionally unavailable men who don’t appreciate the absolute baddie 💅🏽 you are, girl… we may need to investigate. 😂

And honestly? You might need to do BOTH. 👁️🛋️

Because here you are looking like a whole masterpiece 💋🔥… and somehow you looked at this emotionally depleted ogre 👹 and thought, “Yep. That’s my man.” Ma’am. WHAT DID YOU SEE?! 😭😂

Meanwhile, he’s draining you, depleting you, confusing you, and sucking the life out of you like an emotional vampire. 🧛🏽‍♂️

If you can relate, perhaps it’s time to book 📕 that therapy session and let us help you understand why the red flags 🚩 looked like green flags through those rose-colored glasses. 😂

Because sometimes the problem isn’t that you can’t see the red flags…

It’s that you keep calling them “potential.” 👀🚩

Book your therapy session. Let’s get those eyes 👁️ AND that self-worth 💅🏽 back in focus.

Men: “Ladies, if you don’t change your standards, you’ll end up single.”

Women: “You told us to choose better… so we chose ourselves.” 💅🏻😂

And honestly? That’s the plot twist.

Sometimes choosing yourself means raising your standards—not because you think you’re better than anyone, but because you’ve finally realized you deserve relationships that feel safe, reciprocal, respectful, and emotionally healthy.

Being single isn’t always a failure to find someone.

Sometimes it’s the consequence of finally refusing to lose yourself just to keep someone.

Choose yourself. Then choose people who choose you, too. ❤️‍🩹

As an Arab therapist, I’m trying to perfect my Arabic. 🇪🇬📚

Reading and writing Arabic has been a goal of mine… but let’s be honest, this language is humbling. 😂

Why are the letters connecting, changing shapes, and acting like they have their own little social circle?! 😩✍🏼

So while I may still be mastering the alphabet, I’ve already mastered one thing: the Arabic playlist. 🎶💃🏻

If you’re looking for an Arabic-speaking therapist who will help you unpack your feelings AND won’t judge your questionable Arabic music choices… 😂

I often wonder 💭 what it would feel like to be someone’s favorite person. Their first thought. Their safe place. Their choice.

I hear this so often as a therapist, and I want to normalize it because so many people have experienced the quiet pain of feeling overlooked, ostracized, forgotten, or simply… not chosen.

And never feeling chosen isn’t always obvious.

Sometimes it looks like constantly accommodating someone else while they rarely adjust their life for you.

You make the effort.
You make the time.
You show up.
You consider their needs.

But somehow, your needs are always negotiable, your priorities are easily dismissed, and your feelings become an inconvenience.

Then life gets heavy.

You find yourself overwhelmed, exhausted, and desperately hoping that the person you’ve poured so much into will finally notice, reach for you, and catch you when you fall.

But they don’t.

And sometimes the most painful realization isn’t that they failed to choose you.

It’s realizing that you were never really a choice to begin with—you were a convenience.

And that realization can hurt deeply.

But it can also become the moment you stop begging to be prioritized and start asking yourself:

“Why have I been working so hard to earn a place in someone’s life that they should have willingly made for me?”

You deserve relationships where your presence is valued, your needs matter, your absence is felt, and choosing you doesn’t feel like an obligation.

You shouldn’t have to audition for a seat at a table where you belong. ❤️

Imagine if we treated mental health with the same compassion, urgency, and care that we give physical illness.

Unfortunately, stigma still teaches far too many people to suffer in silence. Behind the smiles and “I’m fine” could be your pastor, doctor, friend, child, spouse, coworker, or someone you love deeply affected by mental health.

As a therapist, I’ve heard people say, “I don’t want to be a burden,” or, “I don’t want to deplete the people around me.” Some have even been made to feel that their mental health struggles are a burden—so they learn to hide their pain instead of seeking support.

But needing help does not make you a burden. Struggling does not make you weak. And having a mental health condition does not diminish your worth.

Mental health affects how we think, connect, communicate, parent, work, love, cope, and move through everyday life. It impacts individuals, families, marriages, friendships, communities—and all of us.

It’s time to stop treating mental health as something we whisper about and start treating it as something we understand, discuss, and care for.

Education creates understanding. Understanding creates compassion. And compassion can save lives.

What’s one of the hardest things to hear as a therapist?

“When I was struggling, I reached out—and no one showed up.”

Vulnerability is difficult enough. But when someone takes the courage to ask for help and is met with rejection, neglect, or silence, it can deepen the wound they were already carrying.

Sometimes, the greatest damage isn’t just what happened—it’s the message they internalized afterward:

“There’s no point in asking for help. I did once, and no one came.”

And that is a wound no one should have to carry alone. Going through a hard time alone changes you and makes it hard to rely on others. I'm sorry if you struggled in silence and no one showed up! 🤍🫂🤍
