🚨IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING A LETTER YOU MAY HAVE RECEIVED🚨

To our valued Medicare patients:

You may have recently received a letter from Wellmark Advantage Health Plan stating that prescriptions and other healthcare services associated with SUMMIT PHARMACY OF IOWA INC. will no longer be covered after November 30, 2026.

We want to clarify an important distinction.

SUMMIT PHARMACY OF IOWA INC. was the legal business entity that previously owned and operated Summit Pharmacy. It is not the entity that currently owns and operates Summit Pharmacy.

As of 8/1/2025 Summit Pharmacy has been under new ownership and operates under a different legal entity. The notice you received regarding SUMMIT PHARMACY OF IOWA INC. applies to the former ownership entity and does not mean that Summit Pharmacy under its current ownership is being removed from your insurance network or will be unable to fill your prescriptions.

We do not anticipate any interruption in your ability to continue filling your prescriptions at Summit Pharmacy as a result of this notice. Summit Pharmacy under its current ownership is properly enrolled, contracted, and in good standing with Medicare programs. The notice you received applies to the former ownership entity, SUMMIT PHARMACY OF IOWA INC., and does not affect the current pharmacy’s ability to serve Medicare patients.

You do not need to transfer your prescriptions or change pharmacies because of this or any future letters received from other Medicare plans.

We understand that the wording of the notice may be concerning, particularly because it uses the Summit Pharmacy name. Unfortunately, the letter does not make clear that SUMMIT PHARMACY OF IOWA INC. and the current Summit Pharmacy ownership are separate legal entities.

If you receive one of these letters or have any questions about your prescription coverage, please contact us. We would be happy to review your insurance information and help ensure that your prescriptions continue to be processed without interruption. With Medicare Open Enrollment approaching, we can also review your current medication list and help you compare plan options to identify which plans may be the best fit for your prescription needs in the coming year

⚡️🔌 Do to an unforeseen issue from our internet provider, Summit and other local businesses are temporarily without internet. They’re working as quickly as possible to get the issue resolved. In the meantime, what we can do:

💵 Dispense your prescriptions for cash or check payments

💳 Dispense your prescriptions now and charge your card when internet is restored (must have a card on file, or leave your CC information with us at the register)
