Our intern Jessica graduated and has joined us full time! We couldn't be more excited to officially welcome her to our team!

Hi! I’m Jess, a pre-licensed mental health clinician who is passionate about creating a warm, supportive, and judgment-free environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves. I graduated from Bridgewater State University with a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling in 2026 and began my journey with Optimal Health as an intern in the fall of 2025. I enjoy working with adolescents, emerging adults, and adults, supporting clients as they navigate anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life transitions, relationships, and stress.
I believe therapy should be collaborative, and I strive to meet each client where they are while helping them better understand themselves and develop practical tools they can use in their everyday lives. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my practice. I believe that feeling heard, understood, and respected is an important part of the therapeutic process. My goal is to create a space where clients can openly explore their experiences, recognize their strengths, identify areas they would like to change, and work toward their goals at their own pace.
My approach to therapy primarily incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy. I use CBT strategies to help clients explore the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, while incorporating a person-centered approach that emphasizes empathy, acceptance, and genuine connection. I tailor my approach to each client’s individual needs and believe that therapy should be a space where you feel supported, empowered, and comfortable being your authentic self.
Outside of my work as a clinician, I enjoy spending time outdoors, staying active, and baking. I’m excited to continue growing with the Optimal Health team and to have the opportunity to support you on your journey toward growth and healing!

Sometimes we get so used to feeling a certain way that it starts to feel normal. You may feel tight, tired, stressed, mentally drained. Just because it’s common doesn’t mean it’s something you have to live with.

You deserve to feel better physically and mentally. To move without pain, to think clearly, to feel more like yourself again. It starts with one decision: choosing not to stay the same.

At Optimal Health, we believe in taking care of the whole person. Whether it’s improving mobility, reducing pain, or supporting your mental well-being, change is possible when you decide it is.

So many people think courage means not feeling fear.

The truth is courage often looks like showing up while anxious.
Courage looks like taking the step even when your mind is full of doubt.
Going to the gym when you feel uncomfortable. Scheduling the appointment you’ve been avoiding. Speaking up about how you're feeling. Taking the first step toward a healthier life.

You don’t need to eliminate anxiety before you move forward. Sometimes growth simply means moving forward while afraid.

At Optimal Health we support people every day who are working through anxiety, stress, and uncertainty while striving to reach their goals.

Progress doesn’t require perfection.
It just requires one brave step at a time.

If today feels hard, remember, doing it afraid still counts.

Research continues to show that regular movement can be just as powerful as medication for many people when it comes to supporting mental health. Exercise helps your body regulate stress, improve mood, and build resilience and the best part is, it doesn’t have to be complicated. A walk, a workout, or simply moving with intention can make a real difference.

Start where you are. Keep moving. Your mind will thank you.

So grateful for our team and a beautiful night spent together at our holiday party this weekend.
It was special to have so many of us in the same room, connecting, laughing, and celebrating the people who make this work possible every day.

We are incredibly thankful for this dedicated, compassionate group and the care they provide to our community. Nights like these are a reminder of how lucky we are to do this work alongside such amazing humans.

Thank you to everyone who makes our practice what it is and to our clients and patients who trust us with their care!

Medication can be an important part of mental health care — but it should never feel rushed or one-size-fits-all.
Our psychiatric nurse practitioners take a thoughtful, collaborative approach to medication management, always considering the whole person — symptoms, lifestyle, goals, and overall well-being.
When appropriate, medication is combined with therapy, lifestyle support, and other wellness services to create a balanced plan of care.

This is one round of Dr. Stuart McGill’s Big 3 — bird dogs, side planks, and the modified curl-up.
These exercises are designed to build core stability while minimizing stress on the spine.
Focus on slow, controlled movement and quality reps over intensity.
✔️ 5-second holds for bird dogs & side planks
✔️ 2-second holds for modified curl-ups
Save this for your next workout or warm-up.

Snow days are great. Back injuries… not so much.
Before you shovel, a few smart reminders: • Warm up first
• Push snow when you can
• Keep the shovel close to your body
• Bend at the hips and knees, not your back
• Avoid twisting
• Take breaks

Know when to stop:
Chest pain, dizziness, sharp back pain need to stop immediately.
Cold + exertion = higher injury risk
