Hey Coach Bri “I believe the greatest gift that you can give your family and the world is a healthy you.”
-Joyce Meyer- My name is Brianna Rae but most know me as Coach Bri.

I coach gymnastics at our local gym where my daughter trains as a competitive gymnast. Go TOPGUN!!! I’m also an ISSA Certified Nutritionist and Youth Fitness Trainer. My goal for Hey Coach Bri is a simple one. I want to help, not only my young athlete but, all young athletes with the tools necessary for success in their sport. A healthy outside starts from the inside. It’s important to maintain both, your body and mind, with proper nutrition and care.

Note – Although I am an ISSA Certified Nutritionist and Youth Fitness Trainer, content posted is for informational purposes online and not a substitute for advice from a medical professional. Always speak with a physician or qualified health provider before seeking treatment for any medical condition or making changes to your diet or lifestyle.

Take a breath. Then take another.

Deep breathing is a simple tool athletes can use when nerves, frustration, or stress start to feel overwhelming.

Try different techniques to find what works best for you.

Deep breathing can help slow your heart rate, relax your body, settle your mind, and bring your focus back to the present moment.

You don’t have to make the feeling disappear. Sometimes, you just need a moment to pause, breathe, and reset.

Breathe in. Breathe out. You’ve got this.

Don't Forget to Warm Up and Cool Down!

Warm-ups should be Dynamic. Dynamic stretching involves controlled movement through a full range of motion. This is meant to warm up the muscles and increase blood flow. Jumping jacks, running in place, and active stretches that push through your range of motion.
While traditional static stretching helps with flexibility, it isn't a warm-up in itself. The solution is a dynamic warm-up.
Static stretching is perfect for cooling down. Static stretching involves holding a stationary stretch for an extended period of time, allowing the muscles to relax and lengthen.

Happy National Coaches Day!

To every coach who shows up early, stays late, celebrates the little victories, wipes away the tears, gives one more pep talk, and believes in an athlete even when they’re struggling to believe in themselves…

Thank you.

Coaching is so much more than teaching skills. It’s about building confidence, teaching resilience, creating safe spaces to grow, and reminding athletes that who they are matters far beyond the scoreboard.

To all the coaches out there: the impact you make may be bigger than you realize.

Happy National Coaches Day!

Time your fuel!

Pre-workout snacks should be high in carbohydrates, moderate in protein, and low in fat.

Mid-Workout snacks should be easy to access and provide immediate energy.

If your next meal is more than two hours away you should consider a post-workout snack.
It’s important to have a source of carbohydrates and protein within 2 hours of your workout. Eating after you work out helps with muscle recovery and repairs.

Celebrate you!

Today, I’m celebrating a personal milestone that I’m really proud of: 30 lbs down.

But this journey has become about so much more than a number.

It’s about the choices I’ve made, the habits I’ve built, the days I kept going when it was hard, and the moments I chose to take care of myself.

I’m learning that progress doesn’t always look like a big milestone. Sometimes it looks like getting through a difficult day. Making a choice that feels good for you. Resting when you need to. Showing yourself a little more patience. Or simply recognizing how far you’ve come.

So today, I’m celebrating me and I hope you’ll celebrate you, too.

Whatever your victory looks like, it deserves to be recognized.

Big or small. Quiet or significant. Celebrate it. You worked for it. You’re worth celebrating.

Here’s to progress, growth, and becoming a little more proud of ourselves along the way.
