We're kicking off International Infection Prevention Week!

Infection prevention starts with knowing when something isn’t right.
Public health helps identify outbreaks, investigate what’s causing them, connect the dots, and work with community partners to stop the spread.

Bringing home a new baby comes with a lot to learn – feeding, sleep routines, diaper changes, and everything in between. You don’t have to figure it out on your own.

Family Connects Ohio offers a FREE, voluntary at-home nurse visit – a standard part of newborn care designed to support the whole family, including dads and caregivers.

During a visit, a licensed registered nurse can:
• Check your baby’s weight, vitals, and overall health
• Offer guidance on feeding, whether breast milk or formula
• Help you establish sleep and daily routines
• Answer questions and walk through newborn care basics
• Connect your family to helpful local resources and support

This service is safe and accessible – with no insurance requirements and no income restrictions.

Available to all Hancock County families with newborns. Recommended at 2-5 weeks postpartum, available to 12 weeks.
