So this was the final week of my fall detox and massage special. I’m sad to see it go, but so inspired by the outcome guys 💛
_
Not only did I thoroughly love working with the earth elements of clay, salts, and dried herbs. I also really enjoyed the time and intention involved in this type of service. It felt like a genuine labor of love and mutual appreciation. I was so fulfilled by having the extra face to face time with clients. I enjoyed hearing your stories, glimpsing into your day to day, and watching the stress fade as you settled into you’re precious ‘you’ time.
_
Thank you so so much to all who participated and inspired this creation.
_
Seasonal specials are becoming my favorite way to get creative with my work and offer unique services. So be watching, a genuinely awesome winter relief special is coming after the new year. I can’t wait to share more with you soon!

A valid perspective on how incessantly over working doesn’t actually get you ahead.

“... the more imbalanced we become due to overworking, the more value there is in activities that allow us to return to a state of balance. If you really want to build resilience, you can start by strategically stopping. Give yourself the resources to be tough by creating internal and external recovery periods.“

Try really hard, and then stop, recover, and repeat.

Why do I include stretch therapy in my bodywork sessions?
_
While massage in and of itself releases the muscle, stretching like other manual and proprioceptive therapies then activates the muscle to regain its whole function.
_
Both passive and active stretching (when done properly) elongates the muscles, increases range of motion, relieves stress off of joints, and allows for greater flexibility, mobility and thus the prevention of injury.
_
As a therapist who not only seeks to understand the body as a whole but also embody those holistic principles. I believe it’s important in a well rounded bodywork session to both relax AND restore affected muscles, fascia, etc to their natural movement and function.
_
After being bound up in one tensed position after another, stretching is like a gulp of oxygen to your tissues. A reminder to your vital movement centers and it’s intelligence “oh this is what I can do.”

Happy small business saturday folks!
🙌
Massage sales (including gift certificates!) are going on now thru Monday. All you have to do is click that little link in my Bio to start your shopping.
🙌
I just wanted to take a moment, however, and say thank you to all of you who are already supporting and shopping local. Thank you for supporting me, and my practice, for supporting local artisans, makers, business owners, tradesmen(women), and all the people in the background who make it possible.
🙌
Supporting small Local businesses, like ours, means supporting people and families you know (or who are connected to your community) in what they love to do and what they have to offer.
🙌
In this, you are also pouring your own hard work and energy back into our community and all the funky facets that make it.
🙌
So neighbor to neighbor, friend to friend thank you for your support, your specialities, talents, and services. May we support one another and flourish! @ Florence, Alabama

Life is capricious, ‘the flexible are not broken’ ✌️
When change inevitably rolls in, it can serve as a reminder of what our roots are; what keeps us centered, holds us up and allows for healthy flexible branching out.
As I look around my bright and still fairly new massage room, I think about my roots, my foundation, what has been there from the beginning.
When it comes to bodywork what has remained true throughout all the chapters are :
1. a passion to help others in a real and lasting way
3. a heart to work together with other healers who inspire me to be better, to dig deeper
5. a desire to learn the body and it’s innate, self healing properties
Although the walls and windows may change, this frame has remained the same. Each time I go into a session I try to build upon this foundation, evolve and flex with the unexpected. It may be work but it’s also what I love.
I’d love to hear why you love what you do or at least why you do it. Comment and let’s start a conversation.
