Between life responsibilities, jobs, raising a family, going to their school events, thinking of what to make for dinner etc etc. we all feel a sense of being overwhelmed and/or stressed. It’s important we pick a time in the day or a day to decompress and potentially NOT do anything. Don’t wait until the summer for the 1 week vacation out of the year to relax. Incorporate into your life habits so you don’t run on fumes.

There is beauty in slowing down, in boredom, in being relaxed, in stillness. A quick way to calm yourself and get to a parasympathetic state is to follow a technique called “box breathing.” A quick YouTube search can show you and guide you through what box breathing looks like. It’s 5-10 minutes. Can you spare 5-10 minutes in your day? More than likely, yes.

Often “dieting” consists of restricting calories and food groups to lose weight/cut calories. Now let’s FLIP THE SCRIPT 📜. Instead of taking AWAY food, how about ADDING more produce. Eating a “whole foods diet” (basically anything that is grown from the ground and kept to their natural state as possible/ minimally processed/ foods that came from nature, not a lab 🧪) can dramatically decrease calorie intake and automatically get you into a calorie deficit.

Think about it, can you eat 5 baked potatoes in a sitting? 🥔 It probably would be really hard, but eating an entire bag of potato chips? Easy ✅
