September is Sepsis Awareness Month 💗

Sepsis can happen when the body has an extreme response to an infection, and recognizing the warning signs early can make a difference.

Pay attention to symptoms like fever or chills, rapid breathing or heart rate, confusion, extreme weakness, shortness of breath, severe discomfort, or clammy skin.

If you have an infection and suddenly feel significantly worse, don’t ignore it—seek medical care promptly.

September is Sickle Cell Awareness Month ❤️

Sickle cell disease and sickle cell trait are not the same, but knowing your status can be especially important during pregnancy. Because sickle cell is genetic, understanding your own status, and when appropriate, your partner’s ; can help your care team better understand your pregnancy and your baby’s potential risk.

If you have sickle cell disease or trait, talk with your OB-GYN about prenatal care, genetic testing, partner testing, and any additional monitoring that may be recommended.

Knowledge is power, and your healthcare team is here to help you feel informed and supported every step of the way. 🩸🧬🤰
