Why did you get involved in RAM? - I joined RAM because I wanted to put my actions behind my words and help people who truly need it. It was a chance to serve my community and make a real difference by providing free healthcare.

Favorite part of serving? - This is my first year with Remote Area Medical, so I haven't participated in a clinic weekend yet, but I'm so excited for the opportunity to serve and build meaningful relationships within the community!

Fun Fact: I have two black cats!

Meet Kiara Turner - RAM Fort Smith Hospitality Interim Chair

Hometown: San Antonio, TX

Why did you get involved with RAM: I got involved with RAM because one of the biggest reasons I wanted to become a doctor was to help people in my community. Giving back and being part of something bigger than myself is really important to me, and RAM gives me the opportunity to make a real impact by serving those who may not otherwise have access to care.

Fav part of serving: My favorite part of serving is getting to interact with people, whether it’s fellow volunteers and teammates or the people we’re serving. I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life, hearing their stories, and learning from their different experiences.

Fun fact: I lived in Japan as a child!

Meet Armin Dehkordi - RAM Fort Smith Hospitality Interim Chair

Hometown: Miami, FL

Why RAM? I got involved to help bridge gaps in access to care and bring trust back into healthcare — by offering it for free, no strings attached.

Favorite part of serving: Fitting people with glasses who can barely see without them. Watching someone's face light up when they can finally see clearly is truly humbling — it's easy to forget how many people go without something the rest of us take for granted.

Fun fact: I was born and raised in Germany.
