If you want to decrease the amount of nursing sessions during the day or night, you can replace it with a snack or a cup of milk. That way, baby is still getting something and you are gradually weaning and phasing out nursing sessions. And remember, this is only the case for after baby is a year old. Breastmilk or formula is the main source of nutrition in the first year of life. If we are weaning before baby turns a year old, then we would need to replace the nursing session with a bottle or straw cup of milk to maintain the proper amount of daily milk intake.

Weaning part 2! When weaning is baby or child led, they will naturally decrease the amount of feeds and time at the breast overtime. This may start at six months when they start taking in solids and continue as they increase their solids intake. After the first year, breastmilk becomes complementary and is no longer the main source of nutrition. However, it is still beneficial and nutritious!

Weaning part 1! In this series, we will go through different ways to wean, reasons to take it slow if possible, and how to know when you or baby are ready. Follow along if you’d like to learn more about this process🙂

Phillips avent does a great job at marketing, but their bottle ni**le shapes and flow rates are suboptimal for feeding. The ni**le shape on the anti-colic and natural response promote a shallow latch, which can leave baby “chomping” at the breast (ouch!). The flow rates are often way too slow for babies. We generally want a slow flow ni**le, but these ni**les are so slow that case studies are showing babies are becoming slow weight gainers or falling off their growth curve. Comment LIST and I’ll send you a list of bottles that promote a deep latch🍼

This hand pump is severely underrated in my opinion. It is the only pump I used with my second baby. I only occasionally pumped, but it worked so well that I grabbed it over my spectra and wearable every time.

1️⃣Use your silicone insert or buy a replacement fl**ge in your size.
2️⃣Use the small lever to perform quick pulls to get your milk to flow/letdown to occur.
3️⃣Then switch to the big lever and perform slow pulls to help draw milk out.

This pump is highly efficient and cost effective. Comment MANUAL and I’ll send you a link! Send this to your mom friend so she can add it to her registry!
