Last month we said farewell to the wonderful Dr. Alex Salomon as he began his well deserved retirement! 🥼 We will certainly miss his presence and expertise at True North Pediatrics, but we thank him for the decades that he spent serving his community. Congratulations! 🎉

Measles continues to spread in Pennsylvania. In light of this, at this time, we are recommending the following considerations for measles vaccination:

Infants 6–11 months:
Because of the current measles activity, infants 6–11 months of age may be recommended to receive an early “zero dose” of MMR for additional protection. This dose does not count toward the routine 2-dose series. Children who receive a zero dose will still need the routine MMR doses after their first birthday.

Children 1–3 years:
Children who have already received their first MMR may be able to complete the series early with a second dose during the current measles outbreak. The two doses must be given at least 28 days apart.

📞 Not sure if your child is up to date?
Please call our office. We can review your child's vaccination history and help determine whether an additional or early MMR dose is recommended.

🚨 Please tell our staff when scheduling if your child:
• May have been exposed to measles
• Has had a known or possible measles exposure
• Has fever and rash and is unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated

Please do not bring a child with a possible measles exposure or concerning symptoms into the office without notifying our staff first. This allows our team to take appropriate precautions and helps protect other patients and families.

Vaccination remains the best protection against measles.
