Our Fighting for Firsts campaign is officially underway! 🎉

We had a great time kicking off the campaign at Hop River Brewing Company, where 23 volunteers and Community Champions came together to bundle an incredible 9,250 diapers for local families and celebrate the start of our Champions’ fundraising efforts!

Throughout October and November, our Community Champions are raising funds and awareness to help fight prematurity and give more babies the chance to celebrate their first birthday.

At Healthier Moms and Babies, we know that safe sleep education saves lives, and strong community partnerships make a difference!

We are proud to partner with Cribs for Kids® National Infant Safe Sleep Initiative, a national leader in infant safe sleep education and advocacy. Their trusted resources and educational tools are an important part of our Community Safe Sleep Ambassador Program, helping equip local organizations and professionals to share consistent, life-saving messages with families throughout our community.

Throughout October and November, our Community Champions are raising funds and awareness for prematurity in Northeast Indiana.

Allen County has one of the highest prematurity rates in Indiana, but among families in Healthier Moms and Babies programs, the preterm birth rate is just 6%. Babies born in our programs are also 10x more likely to celebrate their first birthday.

What a wonderful evening at our Community Baby Shower! 🍼✨

Healthier Moms and Babies was thrilled to welcome 92 families to the Renaissance Pointe YMCA for an evening filled with learning, laughter, and meaningful connections!

From interactive educational sessions from Parkview Hospital and Navigate Maternity community resources to photo booth fun, giveaways, and more, we loved bringing families and community partners together to celebrate and support the moms in our community.

A HUGE thank you to the Renaissance Pointe YMCA, our community partners, vendors, and volunteers who helped make this event possible. Your support makes a difference for families in our community!

Our 2026 Fighting for Firsts kickoff is NEXT WEEK!

Preterm birth is one of the leading causes of infant mortality. Babies born before 37 weeks have a higher risk of lifelong complications. Since 2015, Healthier Moms and Babies have helped 3,500 babies reach their first birthday. We are fighting for the firsts of all of our neighbors.

Meet Ashley.

Ashley enrolled in Healthier Moms and Babies looking for guidance, stability, and someone she could trust to help support her during here pregnancy. When she enrolled in our program she was facing several challenges, including limited financial resources, an unstable work schedule without maternity leave, and concerns about postpartum depression and anxiety based on her previous experience. Through home visiting services, Ashley found consistent, one-on-one support that helped her navigate both immediate needs and long-term goals.
