In partnership with The Fairman-Adams Project, we provided free mammograms for 19 women in Denton on Saturday. The Fairman-Adams Project also provided goody bags and food for our patients and staff. We are grateful for their partnership in the fight against breast cancer!

Mammograms Matter! This simple screening can find breast cancer early when it’s the most treatable. We are providing free mammograms on our Mobile Screening Clinic for women who are uninsured and qualify on Saturday, October 24 at Lockhart Apartment Homes in Mesquite. Members of our clinical, research, and outreach teams attended the CPRIT conference in Galveston last week. The conference highlighted the progress happening in Texas across the cancer continuum, from cancer prevention and early detection strategies to advancements in clinical trials and the development of new drugs, diagnostics, and technologies. Our team was honored to attend and present posters about Moncrief’s CPRIT funded breast, cervical, colon, and lung cancer screening and navigation programs.

Stephanie Lawrence, Board-certified Physician Assistant and Survivorship Program Manager, has served patients at Moncrief Cancer Institute for 16 years. She provides care for cancer survivors in the primary care clinic at Moncrief and specializes in fertility preservation.

“My goal is to offer every young patient and their family an opportunity to learn about how cancer treatment may impact their ability to have biological children. By improving access to fertility preservation options, we can offer our patients hope. There is nothing more rewarding than watching stories of hope unfold.”

We are grateful to be a part of the Komen More than Pink Walk, Tarrant County Empowering Seniors, and the Tyler Chamber of Commerce’s Senior Health and Living Expo. It’s an honor to educate our community about the importance of the prevention and early detection of cancer.

“I love helping my coworkers resolve technical issues. When challenges come up, I enjoy researching and troubleshooting to find a solution. It's rewarding when I can fix a technical issue, so my colleagues can focus on helping our community prevent, detect, and fight cancer.”

A native of Denton, Ilse now lives in Fort Worth and regularly practices yoga. We’re grateful for the vital support she provides every day!
