When men hear the word ta**ra, what do you think comes to mind?

Probably s*x. Maybe lasting longer in bed. 😄

But Freddy Zental Weaver brought up something much more interesting in our conversation.

What if these practices are also about helping men become more emotionally available?

We talk about how men are often taught to be strong, tough, and in control, while tenderness, vulnerability, and even crying aren't always encouraged.

Freddy explains how ta***ic practices use breath, awareness, and attention to s*xual energy as a way of exploring that emotional connection.

And that's what I find fascinating.

Because intimacy isn't just about what happens between two bodies. It's also about how available we are to ourselves and to each other.

I had such a wonderful conversation with Freddy and his beloved partner, Dr. Elsbeth Meuth, for the next episode of HOTNESS.

And yes, we went there. 🔥

Do you think men are becoming more comfortable expressing vulnerability and tenderness?

I've learned that if I'm going to criticize someone for how they're doing something, I'd better be prepared to be pretty darn good at it myself. 😄

And that's a high bar!

It's easy to look at someone else and think about what they could be doing differently.

But what about me? Am I doing everything perfectly? Of course not.

So I've found it's much more useful to keep learning, keep doing my best, and spend a little less energy critiquing other people.

I shared this during my conversation on Out of the System, and it's something I try to practice in my own life.

I'm curious: Do you find yourself becoming less critical of others as you get older?

Erectile dysfunction isn't always just a bedroom issue.

In my conversation with Dr. Mark Jankowske, we talked about why it can sometimes be an early warning sign of cardiovascular disease.

There can be several causes, of course. But because erections depend on blood flow, changes in erectile function can sometimes point to a bigger health concern.

So please don't automatically write it off as “just getting older”, or feel that embarrassment means you have to stay quiet about it.

We also talked about testosterone, mental health, body image, and how changes in s*xual function can affect intimacy and relationships.

The point isn't to assume every case has the same cause. It’s to get curious about what might be going on and discuss it with a healthcare professional.

Because taking care of s*xual health can also mean paying attention to overall health.

🎧 We explore this in the latest episode of HOTNESS with Dr. Mark Jankowske.

Why do you think so many men still find it difficult to talk openly with their doctors about s*xual health?

I have a line I use with my patients:
“I cannot out-hormone your lifestyle.”

Dr. Mark Jankowske and I talked about this in our new HOTNESS episode, especially when it comes to men's testosterone and hormonal health.

Resistance training matters. So does maintaining a healthy weight.

And then there’s sleep.

It’s easy to sacrifice sleep when life gets busy. But consistently getting too little quality sleep can affect more than how you feel the next morning.

Mark also makes a practical point about strength training: you don’t have to live in the gym or exhaust yourself to make it part of your routine.

Of course, lifestyle isn’t the whole story. Symptoms and possible low testosterone deserve an appropriate medical evaluation, too.

But before we focus only on hormone levels, it’s worth looking at the bigger picture.

🎧 The new episode with Dr. Mark Jankowske is out now on HOTNESS.

What do you think gets overlooked most: sleep, strength training, or the bigger metabolic picture?

I want to make it to my 100th birthday party. 😄
But I also want to be able to do things when I get there.

That’s one of the things I loved talking about with Dr. Mark Jankowske.

When we talk about staying healthy, it’s easy to get caught up in the numbers, the routines, and what we think we should be doing.

But here’s a question worth asking:
What are you taking care of yourself for?

The adventures you still want to have. The people you want to show up for. The things you want to keep doing because they make you feel alive.

I climbed Kilimanjaro when I turned 50. I’m glad I did. And I want to keep saying yes to adventures like that for as long as I can.

Health means more when you connect it to the life you actually want to live.

Dr. Mark and I get into this in an upcoming episode of HOTNESS. 🔥

What’s one thing you hope you’re still doing 20 years from now?

10/21/2026

Start low. Go slow.

That’s one of the principles I come back to when I’m helping a woman navigate hormone replenishment.

But there's another thing I care about just as much:
How is she actually feeling?

Labs can give me information.
Symptoms give me information.
And I want to look at both.

I don't want to change five things at once and then have no idea what's helping, or what's not.
Especially when someone has been in menopause for years, I want to give the body time to respond.

This is one of the topics I discussed when I was a guest on Too Curious MDs.

We talked about hormone therapy, how I monitor response, and why individualized care matters.
Because your body isn't a checklist.

Love your Zumba? Keep dancing. But let's talk about your muscles. 😉

I love that we’re finding ways to move our bodies that we actually enjoy. For many women, that’s walking, dancing, Zumba, or another form of cardio.

But as we think about midlife and healthy aging, there’s another question worth asking:

Are we doing enough to build and maintain muscle?

In my conversation with Maria Cristina Sheehan, we talk about why skeletal muscle matters, not just for longevity, but for the quality of life we want to have as we get older.

Maria recommends Forever Strong by Dr. Gabrielle Lyon for anyone who wants to explore the science behind it.

Because I want us to think beyond the workout we enjoy today and consider the strength, mobility, and independence we want to carry into the future.

And no, that doesn't mean giving up the activities you love. It might mean adding something to your routine.

🎧 Maria and I get into this in the latest episode of HOTNESS.

Tell me: Are you doing any resistance training right now, or is cardio your main form of exercise?

Healthcare doesn't exist in a vacuum.

Where we live, the systems around us, and the policies that shape medical care can all affect what options are available to patients.

That came up in my conversation on Out of the System, where we talked about reproductive healthcare, IVF, and the very different experiences patients can have depending on where they live.

These aren't always easy conversations. But I think it's important that physicians, and patients, keep asking questions.

What if menopause isn't just something to get through?
What if it's also a chance to become a little more yourself?

When I look back at my 20s, I remember being much more externally focused. I cared a lot about what other people thought.

Midlife can bring a shift. You start caring a little less about outside opinions and a little more about what feels right for you.

I love the idea of menopause as a rebirth. In some Asian cultures, there's a term for it: second spring.
I think that captures something we don't talk about enough.

We're so focused on staying young that we don't always make room for what can come next.
And what comes next can be pretty wonderful.

I joined Dr. Clint Carter on My MD Unscripted to talk about perimenopause, hormone therapy, personalized care, and why midlife can be a new chapter rather than a period of inevitable decline.

What has changed about the way you see yourself as you've gotten older?

"I want to be on a balanced beam when I’m 90. How about you?"

I love that Maria Cristina Sheehan said this in our conversation.

Because it makes you stop and think about what getting older actually means to you.

I don’t just want to think about how many years I might have ahead of me. I want to think about what I want to be able to do in those years.

How strong do I want to be? How much do I want to keep exploring? What might my body still be capable of?

And what can I start doing now to support that?

I love Maria’s reminder that if we don’t try, we don’t know what we’re capable of.

That’s a good reason to stay curious about ourselves, especially in midlife and beyond.
