Lip filler healing isn’t always picture-perfect on Day 1, and that’s completely normal.
These photos show the day-by-day progression of bruising after lip injections. Because the lips have a rich blood supply and many tiny blood vessels, even a careful injection can occasionally cause a small vessel to be irritated or punctured, leading to bruising.
Bruising may appear right away or become more noticeable over the first 24–48 hours before gradually changing color and fading. For many patients, bruising improves within several days, although it can sometimes take 1–2 weeks to completely resolve.
You may also experience temporary swelling, tenderness, firmness, or slight unevenness while the lips are healing. This is why we recommend giving your filler time to settle before judging your final result.
Every patient heals differently, and bruising does not automatically mean something went wrong.
What IS important is knowing the difference between normal healing and symptoms that need attention. Severe or increasing pain, unusual blanching or discoloration of the skin, significant worsening swelling, vision changes, or other concerning symptoms should be reported to your injector immediately.
At FACE Medical Boutique, patient education and safety are just as important as beautiful, natural-looking results.
