Am I right? I can't decide if our youth is better off having so much access to information or if it's hurting them because so much of it is wrong. It doesn't sit well with me that people can present with such confidence about misinformation and disinformation. #dietitian #evidencebased #unpopularopinion
We're different. Last week I had a handful of new clients start with me who were FRUSTRATED. They were told their labs were abnormal and it's probably genetic, or that they just need to eat or take a supplement. They were told they have a stress fracture and given no direction but a PT referral, even though this was their third one in two years. Most have been working with the same providers for years and feels like they are exactly where they were when they started. Everyone processes things differently and many things can be true at once.
You should feel that your team is LISTENING to you, INVESTIGATING why your body reacting the way it is, and REFERRING you to the best. When you discuss an ailment you should be getting a referral to a specialist but many providers FAIL to do this. We live in a society that has allowed big pharma and insurance to take over client's well being and people are suffering.

Kindred Nutrition & Kinetics is a first line referral from most Physicians and Pediatricians in Frederick, MD and outlying counties for suspected and confirmed Eating Disorder Treatment. In addition we also work with Sports Nutrition and Performance clients who also benefit from behavioral counseling.
The individual in this role will have 100% autonomy with their schedule. New clients will be funneled through our initial assessment and dietitian meetings. In the last 30 days we have added 27 new clients to our team. Usually 1/2 to 1/3 of our clients require a referral to therapy.

It may seem odd to get to talk about National Financial Awareness Day in this forum and it's very important! The landscape continues to change for the worse and specialized providers cannot afford to stay in business with the rates of reimbursement. Unfortunately this falls to the patient who pays for the bill. Every year at open enrollment I try to get a good understanding of my out of network rates, deductibles and more. I then decide how much to add to a HSA. With kids in sports I have paid out of pocket for multiple ambulances, a maxillofacial surgeon, and orthopedic because it was necessary. I've learned through the years that telling people you are proud of them is meh. It can even be taken as condescending depending on how processed and sometimes those words can even be scary. As I continue to work with such great people I think the true feelings I have is that I am so HAPPY for you!
This class is so special to me. We worked together during your high school years that started at home in isolation with lots of unknowns and you've conquered your goals and shown the world just what you can do.
You are all ready for this. I am happy for you and you deserve this. Have some patience with your parents these next few days. They are thrilled for you AND it's one of the hardest things they are unprepared to do.
