TOMORROW 7/31 we are accepting walk-in dental appointments at Mission of Mercy's Taneytown Clinic between 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 38 W. Baltimore Street, Taneytown. This is on a first-come-first-serve basis. No insurance coverage is required.

We will also be accepting walk-ins from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM for the Taneytown dental clinic on August 2 & 28.

For over 30 years now, Mission of Mercy has provided free healthcare, dental care, and medications to the uninsured and underinsured members of our community. We are accepting walk-in dental patients on a first-come first-serve basis between 9:00am and 10:30am on the following clinic days: Wednesday, July 31, and August 2 & 28. Services are provided at our Taneytown dental clinic site (Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 38 W. Baltimore Street, Taneytown). Mission of Mercy’s dental clinic provides free fillings and extractions.

It's UV safety awareness month and we hope you celebrate all Summer long! Protect your skin this Summer with the following tips to prevent UV exposure and it's scary effects.

1. Use Broad-Spectrum Sunscreen 🌞🧴 Ideally SPF 30+ water-resistant sun screen. Apply generously, and reapply every 2 hours.
2. Wear Protective Clothing 👕🧢 like UPF-rated clothing & wide-brimmed hats: Provides extra protection.
3. Wear Sunglasses 🕶️ with 100% UV protection to block UVA and UVB rays.
4. Seek Shade 🌳⛱️ and avoid outside from the peek hours of 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
5. Avoid Tanning Beds 🚫🛏️ which increases risk of skin cancer and aging.
6. Use Lip Balm with SPF 15+💄☀️ to protect your lips from sun damage.
7. Do regular Skin Checks 🔍🩺 to monitor for changes or new moles.
8. Educate and Spread Awareness 📚📢 about the importance of UV protection.
Combining Methods for Maximum Protection 💪🛡️by doing all of the above.

The first Thanksgiving celebration was organized by Governor William Bradford in November of 1621. Invited to this celebratory feast were a group of fledgling colony’s Native American allies, including Wampanoag chief, Massasoit. Historians have suggested that this first Thanksgiving festival lasted for three days and included lobster, seal, and swans! Hopefully your Thanksgiving Day celebration will be with family and friends and include some pies, cakes and other delicious dishes that have become the hallmark of contemporary celebrations. How ever you celebrate Thanksgiving Day, hopefully you will enjoy a delicious meal, without seals and swans, but with family and friends. During this special time of thanksgiving, we at Mission of Mercy want you to know that we sincerely value you and the contributions that you make to our organization. Because of you and your time, talents and treasures, this past year we have served over 1,960 medical and dental patients, conducted more than 6,200 patient visits, and dispensed over 7,200 prescription medications – all for free and without government support. Our History

For more than 25 years, Mission of Mercy has been providing free healthcare, free dental care and free medications to the uninsured, underinsured and those who “fall through the cracks” of our healthcare system. Since 1994, Mission of Mercy served more than 43,000 patients who have visited the clinics over 217,000 times, dispensed more than 403,000 medications.

With the support of 220 mission-driven, medical and non-medical volunteers, Mission of Mercy operates both a mobile medical and a mobile dental clinic. Churches provide host sites for our mobile clinics in Taneytown, Reisterstown, Brunswick and Frederick in Maryland and Gettysburg and Harrisburg in Pennsylvania. Hospitals in each of our serve areas provide free lab work and x-rays for our patients.

Mission of Mercy is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. We do not rely on government support, rather, our funding is derived from foundations, corporations, churches, service clubs, workplace giving, individuals and special events.
