After nearly four decades with hearing loss, Steve reflects: "Would my life be any different if I didn’t have a hearing loss? If you had asked me that 20 years ago, I would have said yes...But now, the answer is a definite no...I realize now that it was my own negative thoughts, my own worries that may have held me back, not my hearing loss."

Wonderful!

"Brooklyn got her (Phonak Sky Q) hearing aids at 2 months. (This is her hearing for the first time.) She is profoundly deaf in one ear and has moderate loss in the other. Every morning when we put her "ears" on she gets a huge smile!

"For other parents of children with hearing loss, my tips are to use wig tape to keep them on, and since children grow so fast to use a headband or cap over the molds while waiting on the new ones to come in. That helps a ton with the feedback. Also, get into a routine of keeping them on for all waking hours so the child will be used to wearing them."
