Meghan was diagnosed in the middle of her sophomore year of college. Her education is something that kept her going while she was receiving treatment. Her education gave her hope for the future. Before she had cancer she thought she might have a degree in business, but as she continued her education during treatment, her career goals began to change. She wanted to be a psychologist on a children’s cancer unit. She knew she could help children, as she would have gone through the same treatments and had the same frustrations.

By going through cancer, Meghan came to know the meaning of life. She realized that we are all here to serve a purpose. Megan knew that just by doing something simple, you can make a huge difference in a person’s life. She worked hard to support her passion for cancer research funding. Her last days were spent enjoying the company of her family and friends within the community who loved her and will remember her well.
Meghan’s mother, Jo DeBruycker, established the RIS Meghan Marie DeBruycker Fund in to honor the life of Meghan: https://ow.ly/Yp8h50TuHi1

“If you are not laughing, you are crying.” This was the motto Dwight Soeffker lived by during his two-year battle with cancer. No matter what life threw his way, Dwight’s goal was simple: to spread joy, laughter, and positivity, especially at his doctor’s visits. He succeeded beyond measure.

Dwight was diagnosed with stage 4 soft tissue sarcoma after months of unexplained hip pain. Even though he faced intense treatments, surgeries, and the brutal reality of a rare, aggressive cancer, his laughter never faltered. In the toughest moments, Dwight's spirit remained bright, especially when surrounded by his daughter, Sydney, his best friend and primary caregiver.

Whether on the pickleball court or dreaming of the Bahamas, Dwight's passion for life was unshakeable. His final days were filled with love, humor, and the warmth of those who adored him.

In honor of Dwight, his daughter, Sydney has set up the Dwight Soeffker Named Fund, ensuring his light continues to shine and help others battling sarcoma.
